| Mechanical Design Engineer A permanent Mechanical Design Engineer is required for a leading UK-based systems company. The main purpose of the role is to provide Structural and/or Thermal design, development, test analysis and verification expertise to a variety of Aerospace and Space projects. Reponsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer include; Design Engineering: Thermal Analysis * Originate and undertake Unit, Instrument, Spacecraft level thermal design practices and techniques. * Make effective use of tools such as ESATAN/ Thermica, Spreadsheet models. * Knowledge and experience of the materials compatibility with the thermal environment of space. Structural Analysis * Originate and undertake Unit, Instrument and Spacecraft level structural design. * Make effective use of analytical and design tools such as CATIA, Solidworks, ProEngineer, FEA etc * Knowledge and experience of materials compatibility with the mechanical environment of space and ground * Knowledge and experience of the test qualification and verification of mechanical designs.
